As Jews we are just beginning to acknowledge the need for awareness, education and support in our communities for those struggling with substance use disorders. Many agree that this acknowledgement is long overdue, especially in light of the Opiod national health emergency. Sharon Burns Carter will define and discuss Substance Use Disorder, a continuum of care, Recovery Capital within a Jewish context, and community support for those in crisis.
